What we are about and who we are

What is a film festival?

A Film Festivals is a live event that provides unknown filmmakers and known filmmaker the opportunity to have  their movies shown in front of a real live audiences (YOU). Filmmakers whose movies get accepted into a festival also get valuable exposure to help market their films and potentially win some awards and prizes.

What can I expect if I attend?

There will also a chance to walk our red carpet and attend our award show and concert featuring 2x Grammy nominated recording artist Jamie Grace along with other music and performing artists.

Will you be showing the whole film?

Yes, we will be showing all the films in their entirety. Some films are feature length (90-120 mins) while others are shorter, ranging from (2 – 50 mins).

What kind of films will you be showing?

We will be showing all types of films with messages of hope and inspiration that help spread light to the darkness of traditional film/media and ultimately point to who God is.

What is "family-friendly"? Are these all kids movies?

Family friendly means families don’t have to worry about excessive violence, sexual content, or strong language. These are not all kids movies, though we will have some films that are geared more toward children. Films are generally considered to be suitable for all members of an average family. Some films do contain and deal with real world issues and themes and might be too intense for some younger viewers. Please check the schedule, when available, for more information about each film.

What if I have more questions?

No problem, please email any questions or concerns to info@hdfilmfest.com. We look forward to serving you however we can!

What Is Hollywood Divine?

The Hollywood Divine International Film Festival is dedicated to enriching the community and bridging cultures through the spirituality, education and promotion of the arts through film and media.

We, at Hollywood Divine, with the help of our heavenly father, want to make a big change and we are hoping you can help us with that.

There are many Christian artists out there looking for an outlet to spread the light of God through their God given gift of artistry. There are also many Christian people out there looking to appreciate art that celebrates their relationship with Christ.

We at Hollywood Divine want to be the catalyst for that change. A change that will, at least, balance out the darkness spread by mainstream Hollywood and the music industry, and give independent Christian filmmakers and musicians the chance to build their ministries by displaying their art to the world.

We believe that creating art, in any form, is a reflection of the ultimate creator. It’s one of the best ways to praise God and share his infinite love with the world. We ask you to please consider joining us on this journey.

About Mark

Film has always been a major influence on my life. Growing up outside New York City in suburban New Jersey I had access to anything I wanted in entertainment media including a multitude of movie theaters, video stores and best of all, a comprehensive cable TV package. Having so much access to these things led me to believe I had all I needed. The one thing I did not know I needed was God. Through my early years and on, I spent a great deal of time consuming all the movies and television shows I could find. It took me a long time to realize the profound effect it was having on my outlook on life and what I believed about the world. It was not until much later when I opened my eyes to the love God has for me that I saw the power of the medium.

Fast forward ten years later. I am still a movie buff and television enthusiast but my perspective has changed. I do my best to see them for what they really are. Film and TV are powerful mirrors of society and culture; a canvas that can showcase whatever message we choose whether it’s true or not. But it IS an art form that can be redeemed. From the very first day I committed my life to Christ I strive to use the experiences and knowledge He has given me to glorify Him. I choose to glorify Him by sharing the gospel through the most powerful and influential medium ever given to us.

Currently I own and run a video production company as well as several other businesses. My goal with God’s help and the Hollywood Divine International Film Festival is to lift up and encourage other filmmakers as they express their creativity using the influence of film to bring the love of God to all that need to hear.

About Jameson

Living in Hollywood for a big part of my life surprisingly had a deeply profound effect on my relationship with God. It’s like that old saying, you don’t know what you got till it’s gone. I never thought I’d ever have to apply that common phrase to my relationship with God, but of course I never thought I’d find myself in many of the situations I found myself in living in Hollywood.

The allure of celebrity friend’s, nonstop mansion parties, and beautiful Hollywood women quickly became more like dark souls, haunted demon castles and vampire women. I know that sounds dramatic, but hey, we are talking about Hollywood and I am formerly known as a horror writer.

In my last few years of living in The City of Angels, an ironic name for such a town, I felt as if God left me. But I should’ve known better. God never leaves us. We merely turn our backs to his heavenly glory and focus on the shadows, the emptiness, the void. Soon I had enough of chasing the devil’s allure and turned back to God and asked a simple question, “What do you want from me? Like how the sunlight speaks to every living creature on earth, God spoke to me in a language only our hearts know, “Grow, I want you to grow”. From that day forward I made a promise to myself and God to only pursue and create things that glorify God and brings people closer to that eternal love.
Currently I am working on a Faith and Family film based around the 2015 Little League World Series. I also have several other projects in various stages of development, and of course this International Christian Film Festival. I ask God every day for the strength to stay on the path to righteousness. Sometimes it’s hard, sometimes it’s easy, but it’s always right.
